Li Haiping

Mr.Li Haiping was born in Mojiang city of Yunnan province in 1982. In 2001, although he was very young, he had finished his art studies in Second high school attached to Yunnan Fine Art Academy. And in 2007, he finished the printmaking studies with Mr.Wang Yuhui in Yunnan Fine Art Academy.

 

What the artist says about his two series:

<Common Day> series choose one part of human's body ¨C the lips ¨C as the background of the artworks, and zoom in. The character of the artwork works or plays like every common day. I choose the lips that because our living condition can't be existed without them, that's sure that existence in the real-life is the most importand thing, I bring lips into comparison with my life, and need different living conditions to explain my meaning of existence, so I choose the real personality. Putting the real-life and actual lips together, creating my existence in the unknow space, that what I look for. I like the simple life, as this kind of life makes me happy, that also my desire in the deep of heart.

<Hand> series choose "Hand" and "insect" as the subject matter. We create our life by hands, that¡¯s symbol of working and creation. "Insect" means that every life is able to creat new life whatever how small it is. The artworks give us a tranquil moment, the new life that we are creating is controled in our hands, as long as you understand and read your own life, you're creating your life.
