Zhu Rui

Zhu Rui was born in 1970 at Simao city of Yunnan province, where the Chinese printmaking is well developed. In 1992, he was graduated from Art department of Yuxi Normal School of Yunnan province, and in 1995 he continued his printmaking studies in CAFA, printmaking department. Now he is member of Chinese Printmakers' Association, member of Chinese Artists' Association, Yunnan branch.

Exhibitions

1992 <Red rain of that mountain> was selected to show on "The 5^th Chinese national 3 categories of prints exhibition" in Shanxi Art Museum. And also in this year, this woodcut was selected to show on the exhibition "Yunnan prints to Hangzhou city".

1995 11 woodblocks were shown at Exhibition of 1994's postgraduates of CAFA, in Gallery of CAFA.

1995 Artwork <Woman> was published on magazine <Art Grand Sight>, page 5/95

1996 4 woodbllocks were shown at the 11^th Exhibition of New Artists and New Artworks, organized by Chinese Artists¡¯ Association, at Changsha city, Hunan province

1996 Artwork <Impression of Lalei> was published on the magazine <Chinese Printmaking>, no.9 of 1996 as front page, and artwork <Red clouds of summer> was also published on the same magazine.

1997.6 Solo exhibition was held by German Embassy in Beijing, 23 reduction woodblocks were shown at Tayuan, Beijing where German Embassy locates.

1997.10 Solo exhibition was held in Blue Gallery, Beijing. And also in this year, 2 woodblocks were selected to show at <The 5^th Yunnan Print Exhibition>, Yunnan Art Museum.

1998 <8, Oct, cold dew> was published on the magazine <Chinese printmaking>, no.12 of 1998, and also in this year, Newspaper <Chinese people>, oversea edition no.5 of 1998 introduced Zhu Rui's 3 woodblocks.

1998.4 Artwrok <Life continues> was shown at the 4^th International Contemporary Print Exhibition of Sapporo, Japan, at Modern Art Museum of Hokkaido. In the same year, artwork <Blood dusk> was collected by Shenzhou Print Museum of Sichuan province. And the magazine <Yunnan document> of Taiwan introduced Zhu Rui. 2 woodblocks were collected in the book <Chinese contemporary art ¨C Print category>

1999 3 woodblock were shown at the 6^th Yunnan Print Exhibition, at Yuxi Museum of Yunnan province.

2000 Artwork <Herding voice of valid valley> was selected to shown on the 15^th National Print Exhibition. And also in this year, 8 woodblocks were shown and Beijing Art Expo.

2002 5 woodblocks were shown at the Exhibition <August Date>, at Shifeng Art center of Kunmin, Yunnan province.

2003 artwork <South of colorful clouds-Red land> was shown at the 2^nd Chinese Art ¨C Gold color prize in Beijing, and was collected by the exhibition committee.

2004 artwork <Yunnan impression, Simao> was selected in the 10^th National Art Exhibition, this artwork was collected by Yunnan Art Museum, and attend the travel exhibition in Europe organized by Yunnan government.

2005 artwork <Tea-House Road> was selected in the 17^th National Print Exhibition, Guizhou Art Museum.

Mr. Zhu Rui is also a famous photographer, he attends many photographic exhibition and many works were published on magazine like <Chinese National Geography>.
